I haven’t needed to send a fax in ages, but now I do, and I have no clue what places charge for it. I’m wondering if it’s cheaper at the library, post office, or UPS.
Prices for faxing can really vary depending on where you go. Most libraries are the cheapest — they usually charge around $1 per page or even less if you’re sending within the country. The post office tends to charge more, usually $2–$3 per page. UPS is normally the most expensive, especially if it’s an international fax, where the price can jump to $5 or more. They show all the costs side by side and also talk about fax apps that can be used from your phone. Those apps turned out to be much cheaper overall — you can send multiple pages for just a few cents each, and you don’t have to go anywhere. After comparing everything, I realized it’s way more convenient and cost-effective to use a mobile fax app than to pay per page at a store.
